Meet and Greet was at 5:00. Rib Roof and Collin Box & Supply sponsored appetizers. Dinner and meeting followed.

In attendance were 24 members, guests, officers and board members.

Vendor members Tim Noonan of Rib Roof and Paul Murphy of Collin Box & Supply sponsored the appetizers.

The guest speaker for the evening was Attorney Joseph Pickering from Largay Law Offices, P.A.

Joe gave an informative presentation regarding the laws governing the self storage industry.

There was a question and answer session after the presentation. Joe did an excellent job answering the questions in layman’s terms so that all present could understand.  

A copy of a model Self Storage Rental Agreement was available to all present for use as a guideline in creating a rental agreement for their own businesses.

Also available was a copy of the Maine State Laws governing the self storage industry.

During Joe’s presentation he touched on many of the issues we as owners and/or operators of self storage facilities deal with on a daily basis. He cleared up a lot of questions and concerns the members had regarding a number of legal issues.

Several new board members were introduced by the president of the association, Donna Theall. 

The survey results were discussed as well as the upcoming May 10^th Workshop at The Sheraton South Portland Hotel.

Rhonda Hallett Pope - Treasurer, gave a report regarding the association’s finances.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
