SSA WILL HOLD FALL CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW
SEPTEMBER 1-3, 2010 -- WEEK BEFORE LABOR DAY
WEEKEND
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The national Self Storage Association (SSA) announced that the dates for its Fall Conference and Trade Show at Caesars Palace - Las Vegas, NV, will be Wednesday, September 1st through Friday (Noon), September 3rd, 2010 -- the week before Labor Day weekend. These dates represent a change from the traditional SSA events schedule so the conference will not conflict with the observance of the religious holiday of Rosh Hashanah.
"Initially, our events calendar had the SSA Fall Conference and Trade Show the week following Labor Day -- our traditional dates. At our request, Caesars Palace Resort was able to offer us the dates of September 1st, 2nd and 3rd at this time, due to a cancellation by another group," stated Michael T. Scanlon, Jr., president and CEO of the Association. "The SSA Board of Directors has made the decision to reschedule our fall event to avoid any possible conflict with this religious holiday. We hope that our members will understand the need for this change and will adjust their business calendars in order to join us in Las Vegas on September 1st," he added.
The 2010 SSA Fall Conference and Trade Show will feature a keynote address by former Secretary of Homeland Security (& former Pennsylvania Governor) the Hon. Tom Ridge, as well as SSA's Fourth Economic Summit session. For many years SSA has partnered with Caesars Palace to bring self storage professionals the best Las Vegas experience. The Association is scheduled to take advantage of its brand new state-of-the-art conference facilities through 2014.
Founded in 1975, the SSA is the official national not-for-profit (501-c-6) trade association representing the self storage industry and is the registered lobbying organization for the industry before the U.S. Congress and federal agencies. The SSA serves the $22.0 billion (in total annual revenue) self storage industry including thousands of companies, owner-operators, investors, vendors and facility managers.
The Association represents some 3,000 direct-member companies and another 3,000 indirect-member companies via twenty-five (25) affiliated regional and state associations and four (4) international associations.
